About The Program:
CamDesk is a free open source webcam widget that is, yep you guess it displayed on your desktop. So if you want to be with your family, and play some nice activities online, yet watch yourself as well, or lets say you make video tutorials like me, and don't want to record your webcam, and the desktop simultaneously. You can display your webcam on your desktop, and simply just record your desktop, with CamDesk showing.

I'm running ubuntu 12.04, and I'm not getting it to work, I downloaded the dependencies , and I already have python, I checked synaptic package for V4L ; it's vague at best.

Sorry bro I haven't had a working computer for a few weeks, and won't have one for quite sometime. I never know when I'm able to get on anymore. I do however still have my old flash drive with Ubuntu 11.04 and the new project file should still be on there. I was reprogramming CamDesk from top to bottom in C to make it identical to the Windows version, but I currently don't recall where I left off. Wish I could help you out, more bro, but I got bigger problems to deal with. I apologize for the inconvenience, and hope everything works out for you. When I have everything situated (via my current financial situation settled) I'll resume CamDesk for Linux development and you won't need to install all the dependencies manually. Again I do apologize for the inconvenience, and hope everything works out for you. Take care
